The Advisory Board for the Fight Against Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (COLB) published its National Risk Analysis (NRA) on 20 September. The purpose of the document is to identify the money laundering and terrorist financing (ML/TF) threats and the resulting risk level nationally. The AMF calls upon all regulated professionals to take account of this assessment when drafting or updating their own risk classification.

The law of 21 June 2016 reforming the system for the punishment of market abuse introduces a new system for the punishment of market abuse into French law, overseen by both the criminal courts and the Autorité des Marchés Financiers.

To strengthen its ties to the academic world and encourage studies related to financial regulation, the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) created a Young Researcher Award in the autumn of 2014. This award, which comes with a prize of 3,000 euros, is given for the best research on economic and financial subjects of interest to the regulator. After giving out the award last year, the AMF is now issuing a new call for candidates.

To mark the launch of the new search engine for Decisions and Financial Disclosures concerning listed companies, the AMF has created a user guide explaining the principal features of this search function (director’s disclosures, short selling etc.). The Decisions and Financial Disclosures search engine covers all documents published since 1st January 2009. Furthermore, eager to respond to requests, by certain professionals in particular, to be able to access decisions and financial disclosures prior to this period, the AMF has made its Decisions and Financial Disclosures database (BDIF) archives available to the public in the form of a set of files stored in folders at the following address: http://archivesbdif.amf-france.org

IOSCO (International Organization of Securities Commissions), of which the AMF is an active member, recently published a report on cross-border regulation focusing on tools used by regulators to limit overlaps in regulatory requirements applying to cross-border activities.
