The AMF launched the Young Researcher Award in 2015 with the aim of supporting academic research on topics related to regulation and the financial markets. This year the award is being presented to two researchers: Denisa-Georgiana Banulescu, senior lecturer at Université d’Orléans, and Guillaume Vuillemey, assistant professor of Finance at HEC.

The possibility of providing redemption gates, which is currently offered to funds of alternative funds, professional investment funds and real-estate collective investment undertakings, has been extended by a provision of the “Sapin II” bill. It is now up to the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) to determine the cases and conditions under which asset management companies may use these gates. The AMF is thus launching a public consultation on proposals for changes to its general regulation and its policy that will run until 30 December 2016.

As part of their marketing of investment solutions, more and more firms are offering their potential clients the option to perform simulations of their investments’ future performance. However, these instructional tools sometimes generate potentially misleading and/or overly optimistic information. The regulations that apply to the various firms capable of offering such services need to be clarified. Thus, the AMF is launching a public consultation on the topic ending 20 January 2017.

The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) published its third report on social, societal and environmental responsibility (ESR) information disclosed by a sample of listed companies. This report highlights best practices in terms of non-financial information and presents recommendations on the transparency and coherence of the information. The AMF also published its annual report on corporate governance and executive remuneration of listed companies.
